Nick Ruth is the author of The Remin Chronicles, a fantasy series for ages 9-12. Nick draws on the world around him for inspiration in creating his imaginative adventures. He came up with the idea for the first book, The Dark Dreamweaver, while raising Monarch butterflies with his son as a family project. What if one of the tiny caterpillars suddenly talked, and turned out to be a wizard? A few other ideas were added to the mix and The Dark Dreamweaver, the story of a boy on an adventure to the land of dreams, came into his mind fully formed. The Dark Dreamweaver has won numerous awards, including the Mom's Choice Award, iParenting Media Award, and selection as an ABA Book Sense Pick (now IndieBound). A year later he wrote The Breezes of Inspire. He's currently at work on the third book in the series, tentatively titled Power Purloined, with his son David as a co-writer.
Nick lives in Baltimore, Maryland, with his family, three cats, and various other creatures, some of whom appear in the Remin Chronicles in various guises. In his spare time he enjoys reading, musical theatre (both attending and participating), playing guitar, and writing songs.
